In an assembly in moons school, a brown-skinned boy named Ashraf who is about the same age as Moon, introduces himself with the help of his translator, Mr. Khan. In his announcement he wants to inform the pupils about the experience he has made during the period of child labour. There he had to work in horrible terms where he had to overcome fifteen hours working in a bad atmosphere without fresh air, but one day the workers were taken away from the factory by some policemen.
At Moon's house the first very important conversation between him and his guest takes place. At the beginning Moon looks disinterested and only Ashraf ask questions about the life of Moon and he wonders about Moon's strange look. After Moon let him play his drums the two become more interested about each other.
